It’s not known exactly when it became an inn, rather than a private house, but it has been a welcoming place of rest and refreshment for weary travellers making their way through the Yorkshire Wolds for centuries.
For a long period, it was known as The Farmers Arms but, following a major refurbishment in 2021, it was renamed The Manor Inn in a nod to its origins.
